Another Accomplishment in Her Success Story

Robyn Fenty, more popularly known by her performing name, Rihanna, made her long-awaited return to music on Oct. 28, 2022, with a song for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.
Her return has sparked joy amongst her fans and buzz within the music community.

The song, entitled Lift Me Up, is the lead single for the film’s soundtrack and is a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman.
The lyrics written by Rihanna, Nigerian artist Tems, composer Ludwig Goransson and director Ryan Coogler, are minimal but meaningful. Rihanna’s voice shines throughout the ballad and evokes emotions from listeners.
“I loved the song. I loved how mellow it was because you could hear her voice and feel the lyrics,” said Lauren, a senior at Lynn University.
Though surprised by the new song, many people were happy because of the long wait for her new music. “Lift Me Up” was Rihanna’s first single since her Anti album in 2016.
The last time the public heard Rihanna’s vocals were in the chorus of PARTYNEXTDOOR’s 2020 song, Believe It.
Fans have been anticipating Rihanna’s return for quite some time. She shared multiple times over the years that she was working on an album that would be released soon; however, it has yet to be released.
“I had been looking forward to new music from her for a long time, but I understood that she probably needed a break. Plus, she had a lot of other great things she was doing,” said Lee, a student at Lynn.
Though Rihanna was on a music hiatus, she was still hard at work.
Since her last album, she has made several business advances, too, successfully launching Fenty Beauty in 2017, Savage x Fenty in 2018 and Fenty Skin in 2020.
Thanks to strong support for her brands, Rihanna became a billionaire in 2021.
Outside of business, Rihanna had several accomplishments. In 2021, she became a national hero of her home country Barbados, and a year later, she became a mother.
Most people believe that, as an artist and entrepreneur, Rihanna is here to stay.

Earlier this fall, it was announced that she will be the Half-Time Show 2023 performer at the Super Bowl. Fans suspect she will release more music before or after this performance.
“I didn’t even know Rihanna was coming back; it came out of nowhere,” said Erica, a Lynn student. “I believe she is going to stay and hopefully go on tour.
Rihanna has been successful in music, business and in her personal life. It is no surprise people continue to anticipate her next move.
